The UAAP Finals MVP breaks the Greek team's heart with a clutch 3-pointer for the Ateneo Blue Eagles

MANILA, Philippines – Thirdy Ravena continues to show he can deliver in crunch time for the Ateneo de Manila University, not just in the UAAP but overseas, as well.

Ravena beat the buzzer with a contested triple to tow the Blue Eagles to a thrilling 84-82 win over the Greece under-21 national team in Athens, Greece last Sunday, June 24 (Philippine time).

The Greeks led 82-81 thanks to a free throw and Ateneo found its back against the wall with no timeouts left, meaning the Blue Eagles needed to race the full length of the court for a decent look.

Fortunately, Matt Nieto found Ravena lurking at the top of the 3-point line and the reigning UAAP Finals Most Valuable Player banked in the trey right as the buzzer sounded to his teammates’ delight.

Ateneo flew to Greece to gain experience as the school seeks to defend the UAAP title it won last season.

And Ravena has made the overseas training his own avenue to showcase his wares, especially his hops. Against another Greek team, the second-generation cager slammed home two dunks.
