Over 55,000 jobs will be available in the virtual career fair

Hiring portal JobStreet Philippines is launching its first-ever virtual career fair from February 17 to 21, with over 55,000 jobs available in various industries nationwide.

The virtual career fair will feature live chats and will take advantage of a chatbot for pre-screening questions and answers to filter candidates.

Similar to how career fairs usually go, there will be on-the-spot interviews with human resources representatives from participating employers, though done virtually.

A “live chat control platform” will also be rolled out to allow hirers to talk to multiple candidates.

Participating firms will have their own virtual booths to showcase multimedia content for job seekers to explore.

To join the virtual career fair, JobStreet asked job seekers to pre-register through a microsite.

“During the lockdown, we’ve faced a lot of challenging times, and this year is everyone’s chance to look for opportunities and rebuild themselves. We encourage job seekers to join and submit their applications to as many companies as they want,” said JobStreet Philippines manager Philip Gioca.

The available jobs include the following:

  • IT software specialist
  • digital marketer
  • sales executive
  • system analyst
  • customer service representative
  • financial consultant
  • ESL teacher
  • accountant
  • engineer
  • IT developer
  • HR staff
  • HR manager

Hiring firms include BDO, Mercedes-Benz Group, LBC Express, Yamaha Philippines, Universal Robina Corporation, Aboitiz Construction, Converge, 51 Talk, Accenture, TaskUs, Nestle, and others.

JobStreet also partnered with government agencies to answer job seekers’ questions. The Department of Labor and Employment, Social Security System, Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, and Bureau of Internal Revenue will have their own virtual booths as well.

JobStreet also invited financial and mental health experts for their virtual event which will be livestreamed on Facebook. – Rappler.com
