Fashion trends reimagined for real people
AyosDito pairs up with fashion bloggers to show us how to try new trends with pre-loved pieces

MANILA, Philippines – In fashion, what’s old can be new again – and trendy.

Last Thursday, November 20, AyosDito.ph held a fashion face-off between three top bloggers in the country: Camille Co (www.itscamilleco.com), David Guison (www.dgmanila.com) and Patricia Prieto (www.itsparadigma.com). Together with some of their readers, they presented three looks which represented their personal style and favorite trends.

The challenge? The outfits had to include pre-loved pieces sold on AyosDito.ph.

Prior to the show, the online buy-and-sell platform launched a campaign called #StyleKoAyosDito. From October 20 to November 15, the bloggers’ readers sold their pre-loved fashion items on AyosDito.ph with the hashtag of the team they wished to be a part of: #TeamCamille, #TeamDavid, or #TeamPatricia. Then, last November 17, Camille, David, and Patricia handpicked the pieces they liked, met-up with the sellers, formed a styling team, and created a “capsule collection” that best showcased their version of street style.

The collections

Each of the bloggers came up with their own vision of how global trends can be worn by real people. They incorporated pre-loved pieces from brands such as H&M, Zara, and G-Dragon, which only cost anywhere from P100 – P2,000 via AyosDito.ph.

Camille’s outfits focused on layering. Leather jackets were paired with shirt dresses that she edited further with some minor alterations.

David’s collection was created for the average male commuter. He created a collection of predominantly dark, weather-proof pieces, with a few preppy ensembles.

Patricia’s collection featured looks that were inspired by her favorite musical festivals like Coachella and SXSW. She paired floral, floaty pieces with denim shorts, boots, and floral headpieces.

The runway show was held at the Raven Boutique in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig. The collections were judged by makeup artist Jigs Mayuga, Chalk magazine’s Kate Paras, and Metro magazine’s Katrina Angco.

Towards the end of the night, Camille’s collection was declared the winner. She emphasized that the win wasn’t just about her or her co-bloggers. “I really wanted my styling process to be inclusive where each and every member of my team is heard and appreciated. At the end of the day, the show is all about our partnership… I want them to learn something new and take the learnings wherever they go, especially if they want to have fashion as one of their long-term pursuits.”

Other lucky winners were also able to take home G-shock watches and Beats pill speakers. The event was hosted by Ramon Bautista and Sam Oh.
