The 2016 Kapatid Awards
Aside from celebrating the achievements of these Big Bossings, leaders from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao who represent Shared Services Facilities (SSF) Cooperators and End-Users were also honored at the first-ever Kapatid Awards, a program developed by Go Negosyo, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), and PLDT SME Nation.
The awards was inspired by the recently launched “Kapatid Program,” which supports the growth and development of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) through training and partnering with larger organizations. It gives opportunites to more workers and communities where they operate.
Past Bossings Arthur Tugade, Department of Tourism Secretary, Joey Concepcion, Presidential Advisor for Entrepreneurship, and DTI Secretary Mon Lopez were also given a special citation called “The Nation Builders Award” for their notable accomplishments in public service.
Giving back to society
Gary Valenciano, who performed his biggest hits onstage, was also presented with the “People Saving the Future” (PSF) Award to acknowledge his work as an artist and UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, as well as his contribution to Shining Light Foundation, Inc., a non- stock, non-profit Christian institution established in 1989 that serves as a support system for pastors, missionaries, church workers, and underpriviledged families.
“Together with our growing community of Bossings, Kapatids, and other enablers in the Philippine society, we hope to continue to work together towards the steadfast goal of not only igniting the spirit of entrepreneurship throughout the country, but also striving towards the success and progress of the Filipino people,” said Mitch Locsin, Vice President and Head of PLDT Smart SME Nation. – Rappler.com
