Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Rogelio L. Singson is calling on intelligent and patriotic civil engineers across the country to help develop public works in the country as it formally accepts applicants for the Cadet Engineering Program (CEP) Batch III.
“We are opening our doors to talented civil engineers, ages 21-25, to be part of our Cadet Engineering Program (CEP),” announced Singson.
Forty full-time vacant positions will be filled by deserving engineers who will need to pass certain requirements and undergo exams and interviews facilitated by the DPWH, in partnership with the – the First Pacific Leadership Academy (FPLA).
Applicants must be BS Civil Engineering graduates with above average general weighted average/grade point average (GWA/GPA) and above average rating in the Civil Engineering Board exams.
Secretary Singson said fresh graduates possessing strong leadership skills and dedication to public service are welcome to apply.

He added that regional caravans will also be held in selected urban areas all over the country to ensure that the program finds the brightest civil engineers all over the country.

After the stringent selection process, the 40 cadet engineers will undergo 6-months intensive training to ensure they acquire the right values and skills foundation which they will need when they become regular employees of the Department.
The Cadet Engineering Program (CEP) is an innovative training program of the DPWH which was introduced by Secretary Singson in 2013. To date, it has produced 81 graduates who are now taking part in the good governance and anti-corruption reform programs of the Department.
