MANILA, Philippines – Spice up your long weekend and watch original Filipino films in an event that pays tribute to the drive-in movie experience.

 

On October 26, Nuvali will be celebrating Philippine cinema through its very first NuCinema: NUVALI Outdoor Film Festival to be held at The Fields, Nuvali starting at 5pm. 

 

The event will recognize the 15 finalists of the first NuCinema NUVALI Short Film Competition and also screen all 15 entries.

 

Spring Films, formed by Piolo Pascual, Bb Joyce Bernal Erickson Raymundo and Suzanne Sarte, will consider the 15 shortlisted films for a possible full-length adaptation. The teams will also get the chance to be part of Spring Films’ production team, while the top 5 winning entries will be given a 1-year scholarship grant from the Asia Pacific Film Institute.

 

Judges of the competition include Paul Soriano, Jeffrey Jeturian, Jade Castro and Spring Films producer Lucky Blanco.

 

To cap off the night, two highly acclaimed Filipino independent films will be shown. “Transit”, this year’s Philippine entry to the Oscar Best Foreign Language Film category produced by Paul Soriano and Jeffrey Jeturian’s “Ekstra”, starring Vilma Santos. – Rappler.com
