PNP releases fees, charges for firearms and ammunition services

Interior Secretary Manuel Roxas II has approved the new schedule of fees/rates and charges relative to the regulation of firearm holders, firearms and ammunition.

The revision of fees and charges was formulated by the PNP and firearms stakeholders to defray the expenses related to the effective implementation of the provisions of Republic Act No. 10591 entitled, “The Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.”

RA 10591 was enacted to regulate the ownership, possession, carrying, manufacture, dealing in, and importation of firearms, ammunition, or parts to provide legal support to law enforcement agencies in their campaign against crime, stop the proliferation of illegal firearms or weapons, and the illegal manufacture of firearms or weapons, ammunition and parts.

The new schedule of fees and charges is to be implemented nationwide. – Rappler.com
