MANILA, Philippines – Transparency International will be holding an International Youth Camp in Siem Reap, Cambodia, in January 2015. This is an excellent opportunity for youth participants to learn about anti-corruption work while engaging with fellow representatives from Asia-Pacific.

Transparency International-Philippines (TI-PH) will be sending two youth participants to the camp. Airfare, accommodation, and board and lodging will be shouldered by TI-PH.  The country youth representatives will also receive seed money to implement an anti-corruption initiative with TI-Philippines after the camp.

TI-PH is the local chapter of Transparency International, the global civil society organization leading the fight against corruption. Through more than 90 chapters worldwide and an international secretariat in Berlin, TI raises awareness of the damaging effects of corruption and works with partners in government, business, and civil society to develop and implement effective measures to address it.

In a statement, TI-PH Executive Director Dr. Cleo Calimbahin said she’s optimistic that the Philippine representatives will have a meaningful experience and contribution in the camp. “The Filipino youth representatives will bring to the camp their creativity, their active spirit and genuine desire to see a corruption-free Philippines,” he said.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • 18-30 years old

  • Has experience in community engagement

  • Displayed leadership qualities in the community, school or workplace

  • Comfortable in using the internet, email, and social media tools

Required Qualities:

  • Committed to fully participate in all activities before, during, and after the Camp including implementing a local youth integrity initiative with TI-Philippines

  • Person of integrity

  • Responsible, accountable, and honest

  • Passionate about the fight against corruption

  • Motivated, enthusiastic, proactive and willing to learn

  • Able to work in a team and open-minded towards people of other cultures.
