The seminar series, entitled “Enhancing Learning Experiences through Interactive Teaching Techniques,” introduces teachers to a range of topics from multisensory techniques in engaging all learners to an in-depth study and application of the new K-12 Curriculum for Kindergarten.

This year, the full-day (8am-3pm) seminars will be hosted in Bacolod, Iloilo, and Cebu for teachers of Visayas following the schedules below:
  • February 19, 2015 – Bacolod Business Inn, Bacolod City
  • February 21, 2015 – Sarabia Manor Hotel, Iloilo City
  • March 7, 2015 – JSU-PSU Mariner’s Court, Cebu City

Dr. Felicidad Remo, retired supervisor of the Early Childhood Education Department of the Division of City Schools in Manila, and Dr. Luzviminda Ona, a field writer from the NCR office of the Department of Education (DepEd) for the National Kindergarten Curriculum Guide 2011, will orient teachers about the integrated approach and application of the K-12 curriculum for Kindergarten.

Ms. Hazel Domingo-Babiano, an Instructional Manager for DepEd-NCR, will be tackling topics on interactive teaching strategies for reading and mathematics as well as multisensory teaching techniques for students of different learning styles.

Behavioral management and teaching techniques for writing and life skills will also be discussed by Mrs. Rowena Dagdag, who is currently a teacher from the Villamor Air Base Elementary School Special Education Center handling the Early Intervention Program for 3 to 6 ½ year old children with different exceptionalities.

The seminar series has been brought to over 2,000 teachers in Metro Manila, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, and Baguio since the summer of 2014.

The seminar is for free for the official representatives of invited schools. However, interested teachers who wish to join may participate in the event for a fee of Php 800.00. Reservation is required and walk-ins will not be entertained.
