Gov’t to spend P111-M to renovate LTO offices

MANILA, Philippines – The Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) is spending P111 million to renovate 46 regional and district offices of its attached agency, the Land Transportation Office (LTO), as well as licensing centers nationwide.

In a published announcement on Wednesday, August 22, the DOTC is inviting interested parties to participate in bidding for the project, which it described as part of the government’s mandate “to provide Convenient, Affordable, Reliable, Efficient, and Safe transport services.”

The P111 million budget is broken down as follows:

• P4 million for the planned extension of the Letas Building in LTO Central Office in East Avenue, Quezon City.
• about P8.8 million for renovation projects in Region 1, including the repair of the LTO Regional Office in La Union; the waiting area, lecture, and examination room of the Dagupan District Office; the records room of the Laoag District Office; and the respective continuation of perimeter fences in the Batac District Office and Vigan District Office.
• about P9.9 million for the repair and improvement buildings in Region 2, such as the Regional Office in Tuguegarao, as well as the district offices in Cabarroguis, Tuguegarao, Roxas, San Isidro, Ilagan, and Aparri.
• P1.5 million for the LTO Regional Office in San Fernando, Pampanga’s backfilling and perimeter fence construction
• P5 million for the renovation of the San Pablo district and Laguna Licensing Office
• P39M for building improvement in Region 5, including the LTO Regional Office in Legaspi, and the district offices in Masbate, Naga, Daet, Iriga, Sorsogon, Legaspi, Tabaco, Ragay, and Catanduanes.
• P6.5 million for the building renovations of the LTO Regional Office in Iloilo and the District Offices in Bacolod, Cadiz, San Jose, Calinog, Iloilo
• P4 million for Region 7’s renovation of the impounding, storage, and lecture building as well as to complete the perimeter fence of the LTO Siquijor District Office
• P2 million for to the repair and renovation of the Bais and Danao District Offices
• about P18.5 million for the repair and rehabilitation of Region 8 offices in Tacloban, Borongan, Catarman, Calbayog, Catbalogan, Naval, Ormoc, Polompon, and San Juan District Offices
• P2 million for Region 9’s repair and expansion of the LTO Dipolog District Office 
• P2 million for National Capital Region (NCR) for the renovation of building, and replacement of roof, trusses, gutters and ceiling of the LTO Manila North District Office 
• P2 million for the building renovation, enclosure of supply room, and improvement of 2nd Floor examination room of the LTO Pasay City Licensing Center
• P2 million each for the Quezon City Licensing Center’s and Quezon City District Office’s respective improvements of building and construction of records room
