Glitches hit BDO card, online transactions
(UPDATED) Services have been restored, as of a 9:05 pm update on the BDO Facebook page

MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED) – Has your BDO credit card or ATM card not been working all day? You’re not alone.

BDO Unibank’s systems reported downtime on Tuesday, May 16, causing BDO users to be unable to charge purchases and transactions to credit or withdraw money from ATM machines. BDO began a Facebook advisory on the downtime at 12:30 pm.

BDO said it was working to restore normal operations to its automated teller machines (ATMs), cash card, online, and mobile banking systems following issues resulting in downtime or intermittent service throughout the day.

In a text message to Rappler, Honey Reyes, assistant vice-president, PR and external communications at BDO Unibank Inc., said the lack of service was “due to connectivity issues.”

As of 9:05 pm, BDO has updated its announcement to say that its “ATM, Cash Card, Online and Mobile Banking services are now restored.”
