MANILA, Philippines – A new FEU campus in the bustling Alabang area south of capital Manila is coming soon.

Listed Far Eastern University Inc. disclosed to the stock exchange on November 29 that its board has approved the creation of “FEU Alabang Inc” that will carry the corporate and brand name “FEU.”

This announcement comes after the school owners bought last July a 2.2-hectare lot in the Woods District of Filinvest Corporate City, a bustling commercial and residential district in Alabang, Muntinlupa City.

FEU Alabang will have an authorized capital stock of P100 million divided into 1 million shares with the par value of P100 per share.

FEU subscribed to 249,995 shares valued at P6,249,500 in the new unit.

FEU is a private, non-sectarian, for-profit school. Its main campus in Manila’s University Belt area is noted for a number of historical buildings preserved from the first half of the 20th century.

Before the Alabang expansion, the university established the FEU Makati campus in Makati City in 2010.

Among the school’s notable alumni are some of the country’s richest men — Henry Sy Sr, Lucio Tan, Alfonso Yuchengco.

The Montinola family are currently the controlling stockholders of FEU. – Rappler.com
