Euro-Med official dies
MANILA, Philippines - Homegrown local intravenous fluids giant Euro-Med Laboratories Inc. announced on Monday, February 18, that one of its top officials has died.
Celso A. Velasquez, senior vice president, "peacefully died" on February 17, the listed firm told the exchange in a disclosure.
Velasquez's death comes before the February 28 effectivity of his retirement, which Euro-Med announced in December 2012, citing a medical condition.
A graduate of Far Eastern University in 1973, Velasquez joined Euro-Med in 1991 and rose from the ranks. He used to be Euro-Med's national sales manager and was among the board of directors.
Euro-Med is one of the largest intravenous fluid manufacturers in Asia. From its manufacturing facility in Cavite, it exports some of the 40 million units of IV fluids in plastic containers it produces every year.
Euro-Med has an extensive nationwide marketing and distribution network with several provincial depots strategically located in key cities all over the Philippines. - Rappler.com
