At around 4:40 am, Typhoon Yolanda hit Guiuan, Eastern Samar, state weather bureau PAGASA said. It is currently battering the Philippine territory from northeastern Mindanao up to southern Luzon.

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines announced Friday morning the closure of airports in areas placed under typhoon warning signal number 4.

Cebu Pacific already cancelled some of its flights on Saturday, November 9.

Passenger options

The AirAsia group said passengers whose flights were cancelled can either rebook within 14 days for free or opt for a full credit or full refund within 90 days.

PAL, PAL Express and Cebu Pacific passengers may rebook their flights within 30 days without charge.

Aside from opting for rebooking, guests may also reroute to the nearest alternate airport or opt for full travel fund or full refund, Cebu Pacific said. They may call (02)7020-888 or (032)230-8888 for their preferred option, any time even after their flights. – Rappler.com
