Online flight rebooking and advance seat purchases are among the new options available for PAL passengers

MANILA, Philippines – Passengers of flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) can now manage better their bookings online.

PAL passengers with online-issued tickets could now access the carrier’s “Manage My Booking” service through its website to rebook their flights and reserve seats in advance.

Adding or purchasing ancillary items such as choice and forward economy seats are also offered by the new service from PAL.

To proceed, passengers should click the “Manage My Booking” icon on the PAL’s website and fill in their booking reference and surname. After, they could adjust their flight details and contact information.

PAL said “Manage My Booking” applies to domestic and international as well as one way or round trip tickets issued through its website.

The service allows for flight changes up to 24 hours before the flight.

Passengers who wish to make flight changes within 24 hours from departure time should call the PAL hotline (+632) 855-8888 or visit the nearest airline’s ticket office.

The airline clarified that flight rebooking and purchase of choice seats are subject to corresponding fees. Likewise, fare difference charges may also apply.

The airline is offering this new service as it expects a 5 to 7 % growth in passenger volume this year facilitated by the launch of new routes and acquisitions of new aircraft this year.

The legacy carrier recently expanded its online offerings to passengers through finalizing another code-sharing agreement with West Jet, a move that doubles its network capacity in North America.

The agreement is PAL’s 9th such arrangement, and comes as the carrier is searching for a long-term strategic partner to help finance the acquisition of additional aircraft for long-haul destinations. – Rappler.com
