MANILA, Philippines – Emerson, a US-based technology and manufacturing firm opened its newest facility in Quezon City on Thursday, March 26, as part of its $55-million investment that has been pouring into the country since 2014.

Emerson chairman and Chief Executive Officer David Farr said the new facility would provide the company space to accommodate its future growth.

The $35-million facility brings to $55 million the company’s investment in the Emerson Process Management engineering and service center that opened in June 2014.

The new facility, located at SM Cyber West Avenue, EDSA corner West Avenue, will initially house 2,300 employees.

“Investing in the Philippines to access its educated, skilled, and professional-minded work force is a key element of our strategy to succeed in Asia,” Farr said.

He added that the new facility would accommodate additional employees and provide the necessary training infrastructure to ensure Emerson customers receive “first-class services and offerings.”

“With globalization, customers are expecting a team with an international mindset and technical knowledge,” said Phil Kelaart, vice president and general manager of Emerson in the Philippines.

The Integrated Solutions Center features the technologies and solutions of the different Emerson business platforms.

The Quezon City facility is equipped with the Emerson Process Management’s Technical Learning Center that aims to enhance the professional development of its in-house technical engineers and customers.

The facility also features the comprehensive Emerson Climate Technologies Partner+ Technical & Training Center which provides HVACR (heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration) contractors.

Emerson in the Philippines provides support for the company and its customers in the areas of accounting, customer support, finance, information technology, human resources, marketing, business development, and supply chain management.

Starting in the country in 2001, Emerson has approximately 4,400 employees as of 2014.
