Zest-O juice drinks to appear in the US soon
A local beverage firm is drawing closer to acquiring a Texas factory to produce Zest-O in the US

MANILA, Philippines  – Homegrown Zest-O Corporation is expected to complete the acquisition of a factory in Texas within the year, facilitating the production of Zest-O tropical juice drinks in the United States.

“We are buying a facility from its existing owners. As soon as we complete the acquisition, we will start production,” said beverage magnate, Alfredo Yao, Zest-O CEO and chairman of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

He added that the company plans to fund the acquisition through loans, although no specific details were given.

The company is currently firming up its strategy in bringing in the local Zest-O juice brand to the mainstream US market, Yao said.

The firm will initially produce tropical juices like mango, dalandan, guyabano and pineapple and then expand the product line to include traditional Western flavors like orange, apple and grape, he confirmed.

The plan is to set up either a Zest-O unit or a new US company for the venture, he added.

He said Zest-O will arrive in its famous doy pack, citing the popularity in the US of similar products like Capri Sun. – Rappler.com
