MANILA, Philippines – Rockstar mom and Ozzy Osbourne’s better half Sharon Osbourne, 60, has undergone double mastectomy.

The reality show star told her The Talk co-hosts in the show’s episode that aired November 6 in the Philippines that the decision to do it came when a breast implant leaked and she was with her doctor.

According to a story published in US Weekly on November 5, it was a “proactive decision” after she was told that she was “genetically likely” to develop it.

“I’ve had cancer before, and I didn’t want to live under that cloud… The odds are not in my favor,” said Sharon in an interview with British HELLO! that US Weekly cited in the story. “I decided to take everything off.”

Sharon battled colon cancer in 2003. A foot of her large intestine was removed, along with surrounding lymph nodes.

Fans are shocked with the news, but Sharon is taking everything in stride. “It wasn’t a big decision, it was a no brainer,” she said.

In June, her son Jack was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. When she disclosed this in the talk show, Sharon was completely distraught.

Jack’s daughter, Pearl, was born April. He married his fiancee Lisa Stelly last October.

“I want to be around for a long time and be a grandmother to Pearl,” said Sharon in the HELLO! interview.

“I didn’t even think of my breasts in a nostalgic way. I just wanted to be able to live my life without that fear all the time.”
