MANILA, Philippines – Fans of classic Filipino films trooped to Cinema 2 of Robinsons Galleria Movieworld on November 28 for the opening of the week-long Cinema One Originals film festival.

Peque Gallaga’s restored Oro, Plata, Mata was screened to a crowd excited for the movie that is regarded as one of the “masterpieces of Philippine cinema.”

Gallaga and screenplay writer Jose Javier Reyes were in the crowd as well as some members of the cast: Cherie Gil, Liza Lorena, Fides Cuyugan-Asencio and Manny Castaneda.

The night began with cocktails at the lobby entrance of Robinsons Movieworld, followed by a short program right before the movie’s screening. Oro, Plata, Mata ran 3 hours long (it was shortened from an original length of 5 hours) and ended at half past 11pm to appreciative applause from the audience.
