MANILA, Philippines - Picard and Gandalf are returning to X-Men.
X-Men: Days of the Future Past director Bryan Singer announced via Twitter on November 28 that Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen are joining the cast of the upcoming film in the X-Men franchise.
Stewart and McKellen appeared in the original X-Men trilogy as the telepath Professor X and the master of magnetism, Magneto — former friends who found themselves on opposing ideologies about the role of the mutant race.
Singer said they will be joining the returning actors from X-Men: First Class, a prequel-reboot of the franchise set in the '70s.
“I'd like to officially welcome back James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender , & [sic] Nicholas Hoult (to [sic] X-Men: Days of the Future Past,” Singer tweeted.
The 4 actors played the younger versions of Prof. X, the shape-shifting Mystique, Magneto and the simian genius Beast (respectively) in X-Men: First Class.

The upcoming X-Men: Days of the Future Past is based on a time travel story of the same name in comics where mutant-hunting robots called “Sentinels” exterminate majority of the mutants following the assassination of a senator by rebellious mutants.
Expect a lot of new twists in the movie.
Now filming is the X-Men spinoff, The Wolverine, starring Hugh Jackman as the fast-healing adamantium-clawed mutant.
According to examiner.com, Famke Janssen (who portrayed the telekinetic Jean Grey in X-Men: The Last Stand) is rumored to have filmed a cameo appearance in the Wolverine movie.
