MANILA, Philippines – Koreanovela fans have something new to watch out for this January.
Heartthrob Park Yoo Chun is back to star in a new romantic comedy, “Rooftop Prince.” The show will air on ABS-CBN Channel 2 beginning Monday, January 7.
He previously starred as Lee Sun Joon in “Secret Love: Sungkyunkwan Scandal.”
In “Rooftop Prince,” the 26-year old actor and singer plays Lee-gak, a 17th century prince from the Joseon era who travels to present-day Seoul to find answers to his wife’s death. Prince Lee-gak lands on the rooftop of a girl named Park-ha, played by actress Han Ji Min.
The prince must assume the identity of his modern-day doppelganger while continuing to seek clues to his wife’s crime back in the past.
Another Korean heartthrob, Lee Min Ho (NOT the Lee Min Ho who visited Manila in 2012 as the new Bench endorser), is also part of the cast as a member of the prince’s entourage. Together with Jung Suk Won and Choi Woo Shik, they encounter quirky and delightful situations as they adjust to 21st century Seoul.
And as with all Korean love stories, “Rooftop Prince” has a catchy twist: Things get complicated when Park-ha falls for Lee-gak while he pursues her cousin, Se-na, played by Jeong Yu Mi.
Se-na is the look-alike of Lee-gak’s deceased wife.
Will Prince Lee-gak hold on to the past or embrace the present? We have to watch to find out!
