MANILA, Philippines – Canadian actor Patrick J. Adams, best known to television audiences as Mike Ross from the popular legal drama “Suits” is coming to Manila. Adams broke the news on his official Twitter account (@halfadams) on February 11:

@sleepinthegardn is fellow actor and Adams’s rumored girlfriend Troian Bellisario, who currently stars in the teen drama “Pretty Little Liars.” She is the daughter of Donald Bellisario, producer and screenwriter for TV shows such as “Magnum PI,” “Airwolf,” “Quantum Leap,” “JAG,” and “NCIS.”

Adams and Bellisario are coming this February upon the invitation of Solar Entertainment Corporation. Solar runs the channels ETC and JackTV where “Pretty Little Liars” and “Suits” air, respectively.

“I think ‘Suits’ has a huge female following here in the Philippines due to the way the two lead actors — one of which is Patrick Adams — come across on screen,” Solar Entertainment Corporation COO Peter ChanLiong tells Rappler. “We are happy we are able to bring him over to publicize the telecast of ‘Suits’ on JackTV.” (Gabriel Macht is the other lead actor in the series.)

On Bellisario, “It’s an exciting development. ‘Pretty Little Liars’ is a series that embodies what ETC is all about because the talent involved in that series is all young and pretty which is what we are trying to convey in the network.” (sic)

Filipino-American Shay Mitchell, another “Pretty Little Liars” star, was also in Manila in December 2012.

When asked who else among their series stars are visiting the Philippines this year, ChanLiong admits, “A lot of these appearances are subject to schedules of the talents we want to bring over. Obviously we want to do this as often as we can, if their schedules allow it.

“We have several series in mind whose talents we want to bring over. ‘Glee’ is a popular series that we have; we hope to bring Cory Monteith or even Chris Colfer.”

More than just promotion for their shows, the actors’ visits to Manila allow them to meet their fans and realize how well-versed Filipinos are with pop culture.

“Bringing the talents over allows the fans to feel closer to the actors, their characters, the network. The fans realize that they can meet these actors, shake their hands. It’s really for the fans,” ChanLiong adds with a smile. “It’s our way of giving back to the fans.”

“Suits” and “Pretty Little Liars” fans have the chance to meet (and greet) Adams and Bellisario this month. For the mechanics, visit the ETC Facebook page (for Bellisario) and the Jack TV Facebook page (for Adams). – With reports by Kai Magsanoc and PJ Cana/Rappler.com

(“Suits” airs every Wednesday, 9pm, on JackTV. “Pretty Little Liars” airs every Saturday, 8pm, on ETC.)
