Taylor Swift dominates the Billboard Music Awards while Justin Bieber is booed by the audience
MANILA, Philippines - It’s all-systems-go for the annual 29th Star Awards for Movies of the Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC).
The awards night kicks off on March 10, 2013 at 6 pm at the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Theater, Camp Emilio Famy Aguinaldo in Quezon City.
The PMPC Star Awards honors the best Filipino movies of 2012 and is composed of mainstream and independent film categories.
The awards night, to be hosted by Piolo Pascual, Kim Chiu and Iza Calzado, will showcase opening musical numbers by Filipino talents such as Erik Santos, Jed Madela and Angeline Quinto.
Karylle, Zia Quizon and Cristine Reyes are also slated to sing.
Singer-host-actress Toni Gonzaga will perform for the Tribute Finale, a segment of the show dedicated to luminaries of the Philippine film industry who have passed away.
This year's ceremony brings a set of special awards dedicated to living legends of the cinema industry. Winner of the Nora Aunor Ulirang Artista Lifetime Achievement Award is actor-politician Senator Lito Lapid.
Multi-award-winning cinematographer Romeo Vitug is this year's Ulirang Alagad ng Pelikula sa Likod ng Kamera awardee.
