MANILA, Philippines – Filmmaker Roland Emmerich of “2012” and “The Day After Tomorrow” fame is back with another action-filled thriller, “White House Down.”

The film stars Channing Tatum as Capitol Policeman John Cale. Jamie Foxx plays US president James Sawyer.

Cale’s application with the US Secret Service is rejected. Not wanting the news to disappoint his daughter Emily (played by Joey King), he takes her on a tour of the White House.

While there, the complex is seized by a heavily-armed paramilitary group.

“White House Down” also stars Jason Clarke as Stenz, Maggie Gyllenhaal and James Woods as Secret Service agents, and Richard Jenkins as the US House Speaker. It opens in the Philippines this June. – With reports from Ira Agting/Rappler.com
