MANILA, Philippines – “Glee” cast members Jacob Artist, Becca Tobin, Melissa Benoist and Dean Geyer strode in the press conference each wearing a red and a big smile on their faces.

The press conference in Manila Peninsula happened on June 7, a day before their mall tour for beverage brand Coca-Cola.

“Jollibee.” said Jacob when asked what he looks forward to the most in his visit to the Philippines.

“I’m excited to see a lot of nature,” replied Melissa, who earlier drew cheers from the crowd when she said Manila was her first trip outside the US.

“I’m  most excited about the fans. We get a lot of people on Twitter reaching out and I have to say, Filipino fans are the best,” quipped Becca.

On Jessica and Charice

The 4 also raved about Filipinos who appeared on the show: American Idol first runner-up Jessica Sanchez and international singing sensation Charice Pempengco.

Melisa shared, “There was a moment when we were shooting regionals when Jessica Sanchez started to sing her song live, just a stripped down version of her song, and everyone just went quiet. She was just amazing.”

Dean remembers watching Charice on “The Oprah Winfrey Show.”

“I was blown away. Just listening to her voice i knew she had something,” he recalled.

What’s in store

The 4 shared their plans and hopes for the future. After her Manila trip, Becca will fly to New York to help relief efforts for the Oklahoma tornado calamity. Melissa revealed that she will soon be starring in a movie (what’s your guess?) while Dean hopes to develop his acting skills.

Jacob, meanwhile, hopes his “Glee” character Jake will get to perform onstage and dance since he said dance is his first love.

The 4 are set to appear in Trinoma Mall in Quezon City on June 8 at 12 noon. Starting at 2 pm, they will go around two other malls — Market! Market! in Taguig and Glorietta in Makati — to open mystery crates installed by Coca-Cola in those venues.
