MANILA, Philippines – Fans donned William McKinley High School cheerleader outfits and red clothes for the mall tour of “Glee” cast members last June 8.

Melissa Benoist, Becca Tobin, Dean Geyer and Jacob Artist visited 3 malls in Manila from 12 noon onwards: Trinoma in Quezon City, Market! Market! in Taguig and Glorietta in Makati.

Though Glorietta was their last stop, the smiles of the “Glee” stars were not any less brighter as they waved at fans. 

The Gleeks or “Glee” fans waited since 2 pm until the 4 actors walked into the mall at around 4:30 pm. But the wait did not dampen their spirits. As soon as they caught a glimpse of Melissa, Becca, Dean or Jacob, they burst into screams.

Some held photos of their favorite “Glee” character while others brought out posters declaring their love for the show.

Before the much-anticipated onstage appearance of the foreign stars, local Coca-Cola ambassadors were called onstage.

Enchong Dee, Kathryn Bernardo, Julia Montes and Joseph Marco — each wearing a red item of clothing — were warmly received by the crowd. 

But at long last, the stars of “Glee” were on the stage with Jacob thanking the enthusiastic audience.

After greeting fans, they walked to the giant red crate beside the stage. Along with the local stars, they each held out a new product of Coca-Cola, the Coca-Cola Mismo, a 300 milliliter bottle of Coke that sells at P10.

The main event over, fans lined up to have their photos taken with the “Glee” stars. They are likely to cherish those photos, at least until the next batch of “Glee” cast members sets foot in the Philippines – Rappler.com
