Channing Tatum tweets ‘Mabuhay Philippines!’

MANILA, Philippines – Hollywood actor Channing Tatum tweeted “Mabuhay, Philippines!” on Tuesday, July 2, urging Filipino fans to support his latest film, “White House Down.”

The actor has been maximizing social media to promote his movie, tweeting and retweeting his fans. He has also urged followers to tweet pictures of their “White House Down” movie tickets.

Tatum’s growing filmography includes “The Vow,” “Dear John” and “G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra.”

In “White House Down,” he plays Capitol Policeman John Cale, a rejected Secret Service applicant who, by a twist of fate, ends up playing hero to the US president in this film (Jamie Foxx) amid a siege at the White House. He also races against time to save his daughter (Joey King) who is caught in this crisis.

The film is directed by Roland Emmerich and opens in Philippine cinemas on July 3.

In June, Tatum and his wife (and “Step Up” costar) Jenna Dewan announced the birth of their first child, Everly Tatum.
