MANILA, Philippines – Fans get the chance to become Marvel’s iconic mutant Wolverine through interactive Kinect technology in “Be The Wolverine.”
No claws? No problem. Kinect enables “full-body” gaming and allows fans to do battle on top of a speeding train, slicing through billboards and hurling metal.
Kinect sensors register fans when they take on the minute-long challenge, after which they can post their Wolverine experience on Facebook.
On July 16, a preview of the installation was presented at Robinson’s Galleria and freebies were also handed out to the participants. A rare Wolverine poster was awarded to the highest scorer who collected more than 2.5 million points.
Each competing Wolverine aspirant applied different fighting methods – slapping, scratching, punching, swiping.
One fan of the “X-Men” franchise, Benedict Bartolome, even dressed in Wolverine’s signature top and dog tags and brought his own claws.
This one-of-a-kind gaming experience from 20th Century Fox is available in more than 17 countries, including Mexico, New Zealand, Austria and Russia.
Hugh Jackman reprises his role in the upcoming “The Wolverine,” set in Japan.
