MANILA, Philippines  Filipino duo Deankie Latonio and Tiara Sison emerged victorious in the 3rd season of the reality interior design television show “The Apartment – Design Your Destiny,” with a finale aired Sunday, December 1 on Star World.

The 23-year-old fresh graduates from Cebu were among 9 pairs of contestants vying for the grand prize of a two-story apartment at Elmina, real estate by Sime Darby Property in Malaysia.

The pair battled against Australian fashion reporter Yvette and British actress Sonya in the final round where contestants were tasked to design a whole apartment in 72 hours. Other contestants are from the US, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, India, Malaysia, and Singapore.

In a video aired at the beginning of the season in September, Deankie and Tiara revealed that they joined the show as representatives of “the young, fresh minds of Filipinos and Filipino creativity.”

Deankie favors matching random accents, while Tiara likes mixing neutral and bright colors in a “modern and sophisticated” style.

What they did for an apartment

In the 10th and final episode titled “What We’d Do for an Apartment,” the two remaining pairs designed a whole apartment from scratch in 72 hours. After which, judges, VIP guests, and eliminated contestants held a house party in their apartments.

Throughout the season, contestants were given 9 identical apartments. Each week, the pairs were tasked to design different parts of the apartment under a strict budget and in less than 15 hours.

Laurence Llewellyn-Bowen, designer to the British Royal Family, served as the competition’s head judge.
