Mario O'Hara, acclaimed director, dies

MANILA, Philippines - Acclaimed film and theater director, producer and screenwriter Mario O'Hara died on Tuesday, June 26, due to complications brought by leukemia. He was 65.

His death was confirmed by his brother, Jerry O'Hara, to GMA News.

He was rushed to the hospital just last June 20, according to ABS-CBN News.

His latest work was with the Tanghalang Pilipino's "Stage Show."

He has worked on dozens of films and theater productions since the 1970s, and often collaborated with the late Lino Brocka. - Rappler.com
