MANILA, Philippines – A new film starring Brad Pitt, another Nicholas Sparks tearjerker, a local thriller – just some of the films playing this week. Check out the lineup: 

Fury

 

As the Allied powers make their final push into Nazi Germany, Don “Warddaddy” Collier (Brad Pitt) commands an  M4A3E8 Sherman tank known as “Fury” with a 5-member crew on a deadly mission.  

Viy: The Spirit of the Evil 

 

 

Jonathan Green, a cartographer, travels to Eastern Europe, where he chances upon a Ukrainian village haunted by the monster Viy – responsible for many deaths in the village. 

Dilim

 

Maritess (Kylie Padilla) moves to Manila, studying to be a nurse in the city. She chooses a dorm in the University Belt and suddenly experiences odd things while there. Another student Mia (Ella Cruz) soon joins her and starts to creep her out. With the help of Emerson, she uncovers Mia’s secret, which could put their lives in danger.

A college student spending her Thanksgiving break in school finds herself the target of killers and must fight for her life.

The Best of Me

 

 

Based from a Nicholas Sparks novel, the movie revolves around Dawson and Amanda, who meet and fell in love in high school and soon separate. Twenty years later, they see each other again and renew their relationship with one catch – Amanda is married to someone else. 

The Judge

 

Robert Downey Jr. stars as lawyer Hank Palmer, who returns to his childhood home, where his estranged father is suspected of murder. He sets out to know the truth and along the way, reconnects with the family he walked away from before.

The Pirates 

 

Set in the Chosun times, a whale swallows the Emperor’s Royal Seal. With a big reward to whomever can return the royal seal, a group of mountain bandits set out on a quest to hunt the whale, but soon meets a female captain and a band of pirates for an unexpected adventure. – Rappler.com
