‘Divergent’ fans: Watch the first teaser for ‘Insurgent’

MANILA, Philippines – The teaser for Insurgent, part two of the Divergent series, is finally here. Now sporting a short ‘do, Shailene Woodley’s Tris finds herself in another impossible situation – she has to save her mom from a burning building. (READ: 6 cool ‘Divergent’ facts) 

If you haven’t seen Divergent and don’t wish to be spoiled, stop reading. (Read our review here.) Tris’ mom meets an untimely demise in the first film. So given that Divergent was about a young girl who finds that she’s able to battle through her fears using a variety of skills, and features a host of different situations that play out in their minds, we can probably assume that the situation above is of a similar nature. 

In the Divergent world, the society is grouped into factions, according to their prominent skills and roles. Tris learns that she is divergent, meaning that she displays proficiency in more than one faction – and also finds out why this is dangerous to enemies in powerful positions.

In Insurgent, Tris and Four, another Divergent, are on the run and smack in the middle of an uprising that sees two factions battling for control of the government. According to the description on the video, the movie is set to hit theaters March 2015. – Rappler.com
