[WATCH] Rappler Live Jam: Cheats
'Calling out the animal, the animal inside of you,' Cheats' infectious song 'Accidents' goes. Watch them put on an electrifying show – live from the Rappler HQ!

MANILA, Philippines – Whether its in a crowded SaGuijo or in the sprawling Gardens by the Bay in Singapore, Cheats sure knows how to electrify a crowd and turn them to a mosh pit. “Accidents,” their infectious tune, goes at one point, “Calling out the animal, the animal inside of you,” which can almost describe – in a nutshell – the energy with which they perform live.

The 8-piece band consists of husband and wife Jim Bacarro and Saab Magalona-Bacarro on vocals, along with Candy Gamos; guitarists Ernest Aguila, Mau Torralba, and Jason Caballa; bassist Manny Tanglao; and drummer Enzo Hermosa.

Their eclectic influences run the gamut of art rock luminaries Arcade Fire and LCD Soundsystem, to the oft-broody Radiohead, and to the bubblegum pop of the Spice Girls, a profile once written about them notes.

But more than just their sound, it’s how their live sets go that’s remarkable about them. Led by its trio of vocalists, a live Cheats set is astoundingly energetic. You just have to see Jim leap from one end of the stage to the other, or how Saab and Candy display an equally charismatic presence onstage.

In the Philippines, they’ve played some of the biggest music festivals such as Wanderland and Paradise, and has the honor of being the first Filipino act to have played in Laneway Singapore 2016.

This time, they brought the energy up in the Rappler headquarters with some ear candy on Friday afternoon, July 1. Here are the songs they performed:

Printers

Talk

Summer

Drunk

ENCORE: Accidents
