Autotelic is bringing their good vibes to Rappler HQ! Catch them live here!

MANILA, Philippines – Autotelic visited Rappler HQ!

The band, with their electronic/pop/rock sound, brought their upbeat, dreamy music to Rappler Live Jam, where they’ll be playing a few songs from their new album, Papunta/Pabalik. (To listen to it in full, click here)

Autotelic has come a long way since first coming together in 2012, having played many small gigs and big music festivals before releasing their first album under a major label this 2016.

Here are the songs performed by Josh Villena, Kai Honasan, Neil Tin, EJ Edralin, Timothy “Pabs” Vargas, and Gep Macadaeg at their mini-concert for us last Thursday, October 20:

‘Gising’

‘Gising’ is the first single from their new album, ‘Papunta/Pabalik.’ The song is a ‘reality check song’ says Kai Honasan, for when you’re too in love.

‘Languyin’

‘Languyin is a very hopeful song,’ said vocalist Josh Villena. ‘If you really want something in your life… kahit gaano kalalim yung tatawirin mo, tatawirin mo siya.’

‘Dahilan’

‘Dahilan’ was written by vocalist Josh Villena while listening to a friend talk about his life. ”Bigyan mo ako ng dahilan, kasi bibitaw na ako,’ ‘yun yung pumatak sa ‘kin,’ shared Josh.

‘Unstable’

‘Unstable’ was one of the first songs they wrote. ‘When I would stalk them on Soundcloud, it was one of the few songs that was there,” shared Kai, who joined the band later on.

‘Laro’

Autotelic’s ‘Laro’ fit perfectly with their new album’s title, ‘Papunta/Pabalik,’ said Josh. ‘Yung concept mo ng laro before is napaka simple,’ said Josh. ‘Now, it’s mindgames,’ Kai added.
