Confirmed: Coldplay coming to PH

MANILA, Philippines – At long last, we can say this: Coldplay is coming to the Philippines!

There have always been rumors that Coldplay was coming, and every time, they turned out to be hoaxes. But now, those can be put to rest, as Coldplay will be putting on a show in the Philippines, sponsored by Globe Telecom. 

UPDATE: On Monday, November 14, Coldplay posted this video on social media. The video merely says 2017 – possibly referring to tour stops – and among them: yes, the Philippines. 

 

Details and buzz 

Multiple sources from Globe told Rappler that this was true – although many details have yet to be finalized.

All this attention was triggered by a Facebook post from Globe Telecom’s Head of Music Content, Kat Ramnani. That post has been deleted. 

The post said: “I’ve wanted to share this with you all for so long. It’s nothing short of Magic that I’ve been able to keep this a secret. My mom has always said I’ve had a Head Full of Dreams, but I’ve learned that big dreams aren’t a bad thing; and if you pursue them, will take you on an Adventure of a Lifetime, and give you a taste of Paradise.” 

“My version is this, Coldplay is FINALLY coming to Manila, proudly sponsored by Globe! There are few things in life that will Fix You, but a night filled with Sky Full of Stars with them might just do it for me.”

Led by frontman Chris Martin, the eminent British rock band has been responsible for some of the greatest hits from the start of the 21st century: “Clocks,” “Scientist,” “Yellow,” and “Fix You” – to name just a few from their vast repertoire.

 

 

 

 

The band came out with their latest studio album, A Head Full of Dreams, in December 2015.
