Playlist: CHVRCHES, Passion Pit to headline GoodVybes Fest 2016
Indie pop duo Oh Wonder, Montreal-based rockers Stars, and ex-Daft Punk manager Busy P join them, along with other stellar local musicians and international DJs. Here is our roundup of tracks to help you gear up for the festival.

MANILA, Philippines – A new music festival starring the coolest indie and electronic acts is heading to town. GoodVybes Fest, to be held on February 20 at the Aseana City Open Grounds in Parañaque City, brings together the freshest musicians from the local and global music scene running the gamut of indie darlings to underground favorites and up-and-coming artists.

Gear up for the festival by listening and watching to some of their music videos, tracks, and live performances here, so you can sing your lungs out and dance all day come festival day.

Passion Pit is finally coming to Manila, and we’re ready to forget about our disappointment back in August 2015. With frontman Michael Angelakos, fans will sing along to favorite tunes like “Carried Away,” “The Reeling,” “Sleepyhead,” and “Seaweed Song.”

CHVRCHES, the Scottish synth-pop trio of Lauren Mayberry, Martin Doherty, and Iain Cook, blew away Manila just 2 years ago. Now they’re back in town – armed with exciting material off their sophomore album Every Open Eye.

We saw them again recently in Laneway Singapore, and Lauren and Martin had some nice things to say about their November 2014 show:

Montreal rockers Stars played an unforgettable, amazing 24-song set in Manila back in February 2013 to promote their then-new album The North. Now, they Canadian indie darlings will dig deep into their repertoire to give Manila another night to remember.

Hailing from London, Oh Wonder is fairly new in the scene but their fresh mellow pop tunes have been making waves on the Internet – even playing for BBC Radio 1 early in their game.

Busy P once managed Daft Punk from 1996 to 2008. He’s essentially a legend in the French electronic music scene with his imprint Ed Banger Records, which also includes acts like Justice and SebastiAn.

You should also look out for live and DJ sets from other local and international acts – ranging from veteran rockers Kjwan, to techno producers Emel (Rowe) and Mikhail (Schemm) as the duo Elvis Resley & the Sex Offender, wunderkind BP Valenzuela to the up-and-coming She’s Only Sixteen.
