MANILA, Philippines – Ear-shattering bass drops? We don’t care- we love it!

Swedish electric pop duo Caroline Jhelt and Aino Jawo, better known as Icona Pop, will bring their upbeat synth melodies on their second show, Tuesday, June 26, at the new Raven Boutique Club at the Penthouse of W Fifth Building, Bonifacio Global City.

They played their first show on June 25, where a few lucky attendees of Raven’s soft opening were treated to a surprise performance. The pop-synth duo landed in Manila just earlier that day, tweeting their arrival.

Called “effortlessly cool” and “forward-thinking” by The Guardian, the duo first met at a party in 2009 and soon found themselves making hit singles with the likes of the Grammy-nominated producer Patrik Berger and Charli XCX.

Though their first single, “Manners” was released back in 2011, it was their smash hit “I Love It” which truly allowed the duo to reach international stardom. The cheerful anthem shot the girls from dark underground clubs to headliners at the famed Lollapalooza music festival after its feature on HBO’s Girls.

The song shot to number 7 in the Billboard’s Hot 100 after this appearance, causing other shows such as The Vampire Diaries and Glee to follow suit. It’s also been featured in the Need for Speed video games and Samsung Galaxy and Coca-Cola commercials.

The duo shows no signs of stopping there, however, as they tell Entertainment Weekly, “We bring the microphone with us on tour so we can always record.”

Filipino fans show signs of nothing less than brazen excitement for their feel-good performances, culminating at the same venue on June 26 in the Philippines.

Tickets to the June 26 show will still be sold at the door, according to RavenAre you watching Icona Pop’s Manila performance? Let us know in the comments below! – Rappler.com
