MANILA, Philippines –Followers of a cappella group the Whiffenpoofs are in for a special treat.

The group is set to stage their first concert in Manila called “Reach,” an all-male a capella concert on August 9, 6pm, at  the GSIS Theater in Pasay City.  

According to the press release, the Whiffenpoofs  are in the country as part of their 2014 World Tour. The group is known for appearing on shows such as The Today Show, Saturday Night Live, Gilmore Girls, The West Wing, and Glee.   

Established in 1909, the “Whiffs” initially started as senior quartet, perfoming at the Mory’s Temple Bar, Yale University’s famous tavern. The choir has since been recognized as Yale University’s premier men’s a cappella choir, and  is one of the oldest collegiate a cappella groups in the US. They even have their own song entitled “The Whiffenpoof Song.”
