Christina Grimmie to perform in Manila

MANILA, Philippines – YouTube star Christina Grimmie, who was also a finalist in The Voice Season 6, is coming to Manila this October.  

Christina is set to perform on October 4 at Alabang Town Center at 4pm, and Glorietta at 7pm. She will also sing at Trinoma Mall on October 5 at 7pm. 

20-year-old Christina Grimmie has already accomplished so many things in a relatively short amount of time. She has opened for Selena Gomez’s We Own the Night Tour in 2011 and is part of the singer’s Star Dance World Tour.

Before being on The Voice, she released an independent EP in 2011 called Find Me. She has worked with producers such as Toby Gad, Lindy Robbins, and Jacob Kashner, who have worked with some of today’s top artists. 

Born in South Jersey, Christina began singing at 5 years old. She started playing piano at 10 yearsold, and can also play the guitar and flute.

At 15-years-old, she uploaded her first video on YouTube and has since developed a strong following.  To date, she has more 2 million subscribers on her account, with performances of songs like “I Won’t Give Up” by Jason Mraz, and “Just A Dream” by Nelly with Sam Tsui. The latter already has 85.6 million views to date on Kurt Hugo Schneider’s channel.

As part of The Voice, she was under Team Adam, where she finished 3rd place. She released her debut album called With Love last August.

Christina is one of several YouTube stars who have recently visited the country: Kurt Hugo Schneider performed with Sam Tsui in Manila last June, while Alex Goot and Against the Current (featuring Chrissy Costanza, Will Ferri, and Dan Gow) visited the country last August. Fil-Am singer AJ Rafael also visited the country in June.
