Robin Thicke is coming to Manila

MANILA, Philippines – Singer Robin Thicke will be dropping by Manila for the Dream Fields Music Festival to be held at Vista Concert Grounds, Vista City, Daang Hari on May 30. 

The R&B singer will be joined by DJ duo Tritonal. The full line-up has yet to be announced.  

Robin Thicke, son of Canadian actor Alan Thicke, first rose to fame with single “When I Get You Alone”  was released in the early 2000s. 

But his second album The Evolution of Robin Thicke put him on the map, with singles like “Lost Without U” and “Wanna Love U Girl.” He then went on to make other albums like Sex Therapy, with a hit single with the same name. 

His song “Blurred Lines” with Pharrell and T.I. was also a hit in 2013, but was a controversial topic, particularly when Marvin Gaye’s family said that part of the song were lifted from Marvin’s song “Got to Give It Up.” (READ: Marvin Gaye family seeks to stop ‘Blurred Lines’)

DJ duo Chad Cisneros and Dave Reed formed Tritonal in 2008. They debuted their first album Piercing The Quiet, with 5 of their singles at #1 on the trance chart for 3 weeks. Aside from their own work, they have also collaborated with other artists like Steve Aoki, Nicky Romero, Tiesto, and Armin Van Buuren. 

They have also played in other festivals like Electric Daisy Carnival, Escape from Wonderland, Ultra Music Festival and more. 

Their singles include “Bullet That Saved Me,” “Now Or Never,” and “Electric Glow.”
