MANILA, Philippines – Despite things not working out for the couple, Derek Ramsay said that he wishes nothing but the best for former girlfriend Angelica Panganiban.

In an interview with reporters on Monday, August 10, Derek said that Angelica, whom he dated for 6 years, will always have a special place in his heart.

“She’s (Angelica) very happy, in very, very good place in her life. When I see her, she seems very, very happy. Minahal ko si (I loved) Angelica and I’ll never forget that,” Derek said. 

“I am so happy that she is happy. She looks like mauunahan niya ako (she’ll be the first) to have that fairy-tale ending. My wish for her is that makuha niya (she gets it). It looks like ganun naman ang mangyayari sa kanya (that is what will happen to her).”

As for his personal life, Derek said that he’s very happy. It has been reported that is currently dating a girl named Joanne Villablanca, who is 10 years younger than him.

Derek is currently finishing a film titled Ex With Benefits starring Coleen Garcia, and he said that he could somehow relate to the movie’s storyline. (READ: Derek Ramsay opens up about reconciliation with ABS-CBN)

According to Derek, the movie is about two people who love each other dearly but had to let go for many reasons.

“You have to continue loving. You make mistakes. You’ll learn to love somebody more so than the one that got away and that’s where I am in my life now,” he said.

When asked if the girl he’s currently dating is “the one,” Derek said, “I hope so. Yun na lang yung blessing na gusto ko na mangyari sa buhay ko. I’ve been so blessed. 2015, sabi ko nga, I feel is going to be very good year for me,” he said.

“I think is going to be a great year for me….iyon na lang ang kulang (that’s all that’s missing), I’ll find the right person in my life.
