Cool and composed coach Bamboo, who was visibly tearing up on both days of the finals, said that he was very invested in his kids. “I am, I am [very emotional]. I’m very invested in my kids, ganoon lang yun kasimple (it’s that simple)… Sassa was great, but I just thought Elha, this was Elha’s,” he said. He added he was proud of Elha’s consistency and that he knew she would win when he saw her perform at the finals on on August 29. “I was very emotional at the finals, I tried to hold back the tears… I knew the moment she nailed that, I knew wala nang masasabi (nothing could be said), nobody can say anything. I told her, let’s not give anybody any excuses… We just have to be at our best… and then she did that consistently, amazing,” he said.

This is a first Voice Kids victory for Bamboo; his season 1 bet, JK Labajo, came in third.

Bamboo said that one thing he got right this season was that he chose to turn for Elha. “I was the only coach who turned for her. That is quite a story… At some point I knew I had somebody very special. It’s mindblowing what she can do.”

Bamboo added that Elha was very easy to teach. “Whenever I gave her anything, any instruction immediately next time she gets it, she hits it immediately, that’s how sharp she is.”

Elha said that she plans on saving up her cash prize. “Mag-iipon pa po ako. Gusto ko po kasi magtayo ng restaurant.” (I’m going to save up because I want to put up a restaurant.)

Elha also thanked everyone who helped her get to her win. “Nagpapasalamat po ako sa mga tumulong sa akin at lalong-lalo na po kay coach Bamboo at kay God po.” (I’m very thankful for those who helped me, especially coach Bamboo and God.)

Elha said that she’s happy about seeing coach Bamboo cry. “Sobrang saya po kasi po first time ko po nakita si coach na umiyak,” she said. (I was very happy because this is the first time I saw coach cry.)

The Voice Kids PH 2 grand finale was held at Resorts World on August 29 and 30. The other finalists in the Top 4 of the competition were Sassa Dagdag, Reynan Dal-Anay, and Esang de Torres.

Sassa was on Team Bamboo, while Reynan and Esang were on Team Lea.

Coach Lea Salonga voiced out her thoughts on the season and Elha’s win on Twitter after the show. “Congratulations to Elha Nympha on an amazing ride, and to her coach and guide through her journey, Bamboo! This is only the beginning,” she wrote.
