Lovi Poe on sister Grace’s presidential bid: She’s a strong woman
'She's a very strong woman. She's made of Poe material, so I believe she's a strong woman,' the actress says of sister Grace Poe

MANILA, Philippines – Actress Lovi Poe was in attendance on Thursday, September 17 when Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero declared his bid for vice president in the 2016 elections.

Her sister, Grace Poe, introduced Escudero as a vice president who is “trustworthy” and “will do the right thing for the nation.”

Lovi, who arrived together with boyfriend Rocco Nacino, came to support Grace “as a sister and a person who believes in her.

“She’s a very strong woman. She’s made of Poe material, so I believe she’s a strong woman,” Lovi told reporters on Thursday.

Still, she thanked those who defend her sister against the citizenship and residency issues hurled at her by critics.

Due to taping, Lovi missed Wednesday’s event, when Grace declared her bid for the presidency.

It was a star-studded affair, as politicians and showbiz personalities came to show their support for the senator and the daughter of Susan Roces and Fernando Poe Jr.

On Thursday, Lovi also expressed support for Escudero, the husband of her friend Heart Evangelista.

Thursday’s declaration made Poe-Escudero the first tandem for the 2016 elections. The two vowed to establish a “Gobyernong May Puso” (Government with a Heart), a play on Grace’s initials. – Rappler.com
