IN PHOTOS: Family, friends remember Francis Magalona on 51st birthday

MANILA, Philippines – Six years after his death, family and friends remembered the late Francis Magalona (fondly known as Francis M) on his birthday. The rapper would have turned 51 years old on October 4. 

Francis M died on March 2009 after battling leukemia. The son of film legends Pancho Magalona and Tita Duran, Francis is known as the master rapper of the country and started his career in showbiz in the movie Bagets before pursuing music.  Some of Francis M’s well known songs include “Mga Kababayan Ko,” “Cold Summer Nights,” Kaleidoscope World,” “Ito Ang Gusto Ko,” and more.

Kilala sya ng karamihan bilang makabayan na Master Rapper. Kilala sya ng marami bilang artista at host. Kilala ko sya bilang mayabang at maangas na kuya na isip bata na sobrang mapagmahal sa pamilya. On Saturday,  Elmo Magalona and brother Arkin performed as the opening act in Eat Bulaga. The show paid tribute to Francis in the “Bulaga Pa More” segment. Nino Alejandro won the contest, which was judged by Elmo.
