MANILA, Philippines – Cesar Montano said that he and son Diego Loyzaga are okay and that he’s proud of his accomplishments. He also gave an update on his project and relationship with daughters with estranged wife Sunshine Cruz.

In an interview with the press on Monday, October 12 for the movie Nilalang with Japanese actress Maria Ozawa, Cesar said that he and Diego are in touch with each other. Diego is his son with actress Teresa Loyzaga.

“Okay kami, lagi kami connected. Nag tetext kami. I’m very proud about my son sa FAMAS. Ang ganda-ganda ng career niya. I’ve been hearing so much good feedback about his acting, his performance. Tuwang-tuwa ako. Tuwing nagkikita kami para kaming nag-aacting workshop sa bahay,” he said.

(We’re okay, we’re always connected. We text each other. I’m very proud about my son’s achievement at the FAMAS Awards. His career is going well. I’ve been hearing so much good feedback about his acting, his performances. I’m very happy. When we see each other, it’s like we’re doing an acting workshop at home.)

Diego received the German Moreno Youth Achievement Award at the 2015 FAMAS Awards. 

As for the relationship with his 3 daughters with estranged wife Sunshine Cruz, Cesar admitted that he has not communicated with them since a case is still pending before the court. Last March, Sunshine filed a case against Cesar for allegedly violating the Anti Violence Against Women and their Children (VAWC) act. “Well, now, wala pa ako masabi dun kasi isinama ng dati kong asawa yung pangalan ng tatlong anak ko sa case namin.

(Well, now, I cannot say anything about it because my ex-wife put the names of our 3 kids in the case.)

“And it’s inside the circle of gag order kaya wala ako masabi (I can’t say anything). Although I hate the idea, wala akong magagawa (I cannot do anything),” he said. 

Cesar also said that he was disappointed that the camp of his estranged wife has not been cooperating with them. 

“Hindi nakikipag-cooperate sila, (they’re not cooperating with us) which is actually against the law.

“Kasama yun sa agreement namin pero hindi nila ginagawa, (It’s part of our agreement but they’re not doing their part),” he said.

Despite the situation, Cesar said he hopes to have his relationship with Sunshine and his kids fixed soon. He said he longs to be with his daughters and is glad that he has the movie, his painting, and other activities to keep him busy.

The couple separated in 2013 after Sunshine claimed Cesar was having an affair with Krista Miller. Sunshine has since filed an annulment case against Cesar, which is pending in court.  –Rappler.com
