Ex-NBA champ Lamar Odom reportedly ‘fighting for life’
Lamar is found unconscious in a legal brothel in Nevada

LOS ANGELES, USA (UPDATED) – Lamar Odom, a former National Basketball Association (NBA) champion who became a tabloid target before splitting from reality TV star wife Khloe Kardashian, is “fighting for his life” after a brothel binge in Nevada, TMZ reported Tuesday, October 14.

The celebrity gossip website reported that Odom, who won NBA titles with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2009 and 2010, was hospitalized after he was found unconscious in his room at the Love Ranch, a legal brothel in Pahrump, Nevada.

Later on October 14, E! News reported on Periscope that Odom is in “critical condition” and is “fighting for his life” at Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas. Khloe, Kim, and Kris Kardashian are on their way to the hospital to see him.

According to E! News, Odom was conscious when a woman left his hotel room at 6:00 am in Nevada. He was found at 3:00 pm and was rushed to a local hospital at 3:30 pm. He was taken to Sunrise Hospital afterwards, through an ambulance.

According to US Weekly, Odom’s father, Joe Odom, was seen at the lobby of his California apartment complex on October 13. Eyewitnesses said that he wasn’t doing well and he asked for prayers. Joe Odom also told US Weekly that he was fine but was “trying to take care of some business right now.”

In August of 2013 Odom, the subject of a rash of news stories about alleged drug use and troubles in his marriage to Kardashian, was arrested for drunk driving.

Kardashian filed for divorce from Odom in December of 2013, although the split was not immediately finalized.

Odom, who was the 2011 6th man of the year as the NBA’s top reserve and won Olympic bronze with the USA in Athens, has endured numerous personal hardships in his life.

He was raised by his grandmother after his mother died of colon cancer when he was 12 years old.

He was estranged from his heroin-addict father at an early age and in 2006 his 6-month-old son Jayden, one of three children with his onetime girlfriend Liza Morales, died from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. – Rappler.com
