WATCH: Ellen DeGeneres spoofs Adele’s ‘Hello’

MANILA, Philippines – You may have heard and loved Adele’s song “Hello,” but did you know that it was inspired by a conversation between her and Ellen DeGeneres?

In a spoof on her show, Ellen showed her audience what exactly she and Adele were talking about when the song was inspired, and it looks like it all started with a bad connection. (WATCH: Adele releases music video for ‘Hello’)

In the video above, Adele calls Ellen up but refuses to get to the point. “Let’s wrap – I’m in a hurry. You’re talking so slowly,” said Ellen.

Their conversation went so slowly in fact, that Ellen had to cut it off when she got another call from Drake singing, “You used to call me on my cellphone,” from “Hotel Bling.”

Of course, after both Adele and Drake’s lines were cut, Ellen got a call from none other than Lionel Richie singing his own “Hello.”
