WATCH: Ellen finds the amazing South Korean student who covered ‘Hello’

MANILA, Philippines – Early this month, a South Korean student cover Adele’s “Hello” went viral, and had many people guessing at her identity.

After a couple of weeks, Ellen DeGeneres – true to her style – found the viral sensation, Lydia Lee, and asked her to perform on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

After a short conversation about the comments on her video – Lydia’s favorite was one about how she should be on Ellen’s show – Lydia killed it on her cover of “Hello” once again, this time live. Her mom was even in the audience watching!

Aside from Lydia’s cover, there have been many covers, spoofs, and mashups of the Adele song since it was released in October. (WATCH: 9-year-old Pinoy singer covers Adele’s ‘Hello’)

“Hello” is part of Adele’s newly released album 25, which she said was a look at her life “teetering on the edge of being an old adolescent and a fully fledged adult.”

The album is expected to be the most successful in over a decade, with more than 3 million physical copies shipped to US stores alone. The album won’t be available on Apple Music, Spotify, or other streaming sites.

Aside from Adele, One Direction and Justin Bieber also released new albums in the past month. Both artists were guests on Ellen’s show.

Ellen often invites viral stars on her show to get to know them a little better. One of her recent guests include the dancing 7-year-old Filipino Balang.
