Almira, one of the members, showcases her whistling skills

MANILA, Philippines – Filipino group 4th Impact continued to impress the judges on the X Factor UK, Saturday, November 28, when they performed the Jackson 5’s classic song “I’ll Be There” for jukebox week.

Before the performance, the group met mentor Cheryl Versini-Fernandez.

“We finally get to sing a ballad,” Cheryl told the girls, giving them the opportunity to show another side to them.

The girls also had an interview and visit at the Philippine embassy in London.

During their “I’ll Be There” performance, Almira revealed her whistling technique a la Mariah Carey, which got applause from the audience.

Simon Cowell praised the ladies yet again.

“I was really dreading it. And then you started to sing and everything changed,” he said. Simon has previously told the ladies and Cheryl that they should also focus on highlighting their personalities as individuals.

Somehow, at this point of the competition, he still could not tell the sisters apart. He called Almira “B” when he praised her for her whistle.

“B (Almira) your vocal was absolutely outstanding at parts. I thought, vocally, the best you’ve sounded so far,” Simon added.

Nick Grimshaw meanwhile said: “It’s great to see a completely different side of you and get you to do an emotional song and we got to hear all of you singing individually… that high note, there’s gonna be like, dolphins arriving in Wembley.”

Rita Ora said she loved how the girls connected with the song.

“Do you know what I love with that performance is the relationship that you have with the record ‘I’ll be There’. It’s like Jackson 5. It’s like you guys are related. They were related. And I think only the people that have connection to each other can sing a record like that and do it justice,” she said.

The girls also performed a mash-up of the song “Fancy Girl.”

Last week, the girls made it to the Top 5 performing the song “We Found Love” with the other top 6 finalists. On Saturday, November 21, the group performed Christina Aguilera’s Ain’t No Other Man.

Results of the live show will be announced Sunday, November 29 (Monday, November 30, Manila). – Rappler.com
