Vic Sotto, Pauleen Luna exchange sweet messages hours before wedding

MANILA, Philippines – A few hours before Vic Sotto and Pauleen Luna’s wedding, the afternoon variety show that Vic hosts, Eat Bulaga, held a special episode just for the couple.

On Saturday, January 30, Eat Bulaga showed how the preparations for the wedding were coming along. Viewers were shown St James the Great Parish, where the couple would be wed later that day.

Among the other details given during the episode were that Vic’s sister-in-law, Mabel Sotto, provided the flowers for the event, the wedding’s motif would be baby pink and taupe, and that more than 200 people – the couple’s family and friends – would be in attendance.

A photo of Pauleen’s wedding gown was later shared on Eat Bulaga’s Facebook page. 

The hosts also visited Pauleen and Vic separately during the episode, and each gave messages for each other.

Vic was sitting at his dressing room, dressed casually, when the hosts spoke to him.

“Una sa lahat, salamat (First of all, thank you). Thank you for loving me,” said Vic. “For loving me for what I am, kung ano man ako, ano mang pinagdaanan ko, tinanggap niya ako (whatever I am, whatever I’ve been through, she accepted me), and I highly appreciate that. Thank you.” Vic added that he’ll say more during the wedding.

Later, the hosts caught Pauleen in her own dressing room, getting her makeup done by artist Mickey See.

Before Pauleen gave her message, she watched a short video where her mom and brother shared about her and Vic’s relationship.

Her mom said that Vic spoke to them about the upcoming wedding. “In-assure niya kami na no one can touch Pauleen, walang pwedeng umaway, kahit sino. Siya daw magtatanggol. Saka huwag daw ako mag-alala. Hindi kami nawalan ng anak, kundi kami ay nag-gain ng isa pang anak, na siya ‘yon.“

(He assured us that no one can touch Pauleen, no one can fight her, no one. He will defnd her. And he said we shouldn’t worry. We wouldn’t lose a child, but we’ll gain another one, and that’s him.)

The video had Pauleen and the hosts in tears.

When asked for a message, she said: “I’m very open to Vic. Feel ko nabibingi na nga siya sa akin kasi (I feel like he’s going deaf because of me, because) I really speak my mind and my heart. And I don’t think there’s anything else na hindi ko pa nasasabi (that I haven’t said yet).

“But we’ve prayed for this for quite a while. Marami na rin tayong napagdaanan (We’ve gone through so much) and I’m just so blessed that I’ll be sharing this life with you and I am so happy that I found my home in you.”

Pauleen and Vic are set to be wed in the evening of January 30. Vic first confirmed the news of their engagement in September 2015. – Rappler.com
